This rock art is in a cave found within Canyon de Chelly. I was not expecting to see pictographs, but here they were, and they were so amazing. Guided down by a Navajo guide with my son-in-law and cousin, we went into the canyon over boulders and slick rock. The canyon is beautiful, full of unexpected sights, and a great workout! Getting down was something of a feat, walking (trudging?) through miles of soft sand, pushing my physical limits only to have to climb back up . . . all of this by choice! It was well worth it. Oh, and we saw the lunar eclipse from the bottom of the canyon also! What a day.
