About Me

My inspiration is finding beauty in the ordinary all around me. To represent the ordinary in a new or unusual way is what I strive for. For example, it might be the beautiful light of the moment, the unexpected combination or juxtaposition of things, or the surprising colors of something; that becomes the seed for my final images or art creations. I’ve given myself permission to experiment with photos and show my unique vision, elevating the mundane in unexpected ways. I love incorporating my photography into my collage work, and it’s incredibly satisfying.

My setup for Cranking out the Cranes, found in the Black and White Gallery.

This is what it feels like some days as a dog mom to one Cairn Terrier. Murphy keeps me active and is my trail buddy when scouting inspiration.

My photographic images are not documentary, they are my impressions, my vision. I hope my photographic creations leave viewers with a sense of wonderment, just as much as I hope my collage and print art does. My intentions are not to please everyone, but to create what pleases me and I think, perhaps, they will please someone else along the way.

All of my collage papers are handmade. Some are the result of “fails” while learning and practicing new techniques. “Fails” while may not be something that will stand on its own, will sometimes make wonderful collage elements. Nothing is wasted.
